Handwritten Coptic Orthodox icon of Christ and the Crown of Thorns created using traditional iconographic techniques. Each icon is prayerfully written by hand on a prepared wood panel using authentic methods rooted in the ancient tradition of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Traditional egg tempera paint (natural pigment mixed with egg yolk medium)
Gesso-prepared wood panel
Genuine gilded gold leaf

This icon is individually made from start to finish using traditional iconography methods. The wooden panel is carefully prepared with layers of traditional gesso, creating a smooth archival surface. The halo/background is adorned with genuine gold leaf, applied by hand. The image is then written in egg tempera, following the sacred artistic tradition of Coptic iconography. Because each piece is entirely handmade, slight variations make every icon unique.
